Position
Captain / Engineer - The vessel owner also owned Burger Boat Company. It was a pleasure to work and learn from such a talented family so vested in the yachting industry. I learned much and was provided great opportunities during my employment.
I assisted with Warranty and new yacht deliveries for Burger Boat Co. This vessel was the inspiration for a BBC Classic cruiser design never built.

My first post as Captain was onboard this lovely classic cruiser built by Burger Boat Co. (BBC). The family who owned the vessel also owned BBC, we had met when I was onboard a previous Burger. This was a small family/business program, with wonderful industry exposure. The owners allowed me time to assist with BBC warranty works, vessel photo shoots, events, and several new build deliveries.
Our itineraries included trip to the Bahamas, Coastal Florida, the U.S. East coast. Also a fall trip returning to Burger in Wisconsin via the Hudson River, NY Barge canal, and the U.S. Great Lakes. Once to BBC, I assisted with the maiden sea trials and delivery of MY Top Times to Florida. Wisconsin to Florida via the St. Lawrence Seaway is longer than most trans-atlantic crossings. We were the last recreational vessel to exit the Welland Canal and only stopping twice we arrived to Fort Lauderdale in 18 days and eight (8) hours later entered the vessel into FLIBS.
By all accounts the experience gained during this employment was vast and I am thankful for the opportunities and exposure this wonderful employer provided me. We remain in personal and professional contact to date.
